About Smile

Smile - Society Making Impellent Living Efforts - is a Voluntary Social Welfare Organization. Smile started functioning in 1991 with Dr. Devi Shetty, the then chief cardiac surgeon of B.M. Birla Heart Research Centre, Kolkata as the chief advisor. Subsequently, on his going to Manipal Hospital, Bangalore new advisory board formed (see in SMILE Profile).

From the heart surgery they have diversified their activities to aware the common people about “Breast Cancer” & “AIDS” besides free clinic at Ganima (24 Parganes South) . Responding to an apple to “Vivekananda Seva Sadan” (a projected rural type hospital), they have plunged in action of completing the 50 bedded hospital jointly.
